Anthony James (He/Him) is the Chief Operating Officer at PinkNews, the largest and most influential LQBTQ+ media company producing some of the most read and watched LGBTQ+ content globally; reaching over 100 million people each month. Since joining the business, Anthony has overseen the exponential growth of PinkNews - both in terms of audience and revenues. Prior to working in the media, Anthony spent 15 years in the healthcare sector, working clinically as a primary care doctor with a specialist interest in communication skills and mental health, as well as in a range of non-clinical roles. This included working at NHS Digital, leading a clinical team to deliver multiple national IT interoperability projects, as well as being the former Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners Training Committee at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with responsibility for the more than 15,000 GP trainees working across the UK.
Anthony has been a trustee of LGBTQ+ charity HERO and trans youth charity Mermaids. He holds six medical qualifications, alongside a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Management from the University of Glasgow and an MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology.
